Identity Verified is not the same as endorsed, and we will keep saying so

A blue check confirms a specific fact. Treating it as a guarantee of legitimacy is how people get hurt. Here is exactly what ours does and does not mean.

Every platform with a verification badge eventually faces the same drift. The badge starts as a narrow statement, "this account belongs to the person it says it does", and slowly becomes a halo. Verified accounts feel trustworthy in every dimension, even when the check only ever covered one.

What our blue check confirms

Identity Verified on KONNOVA means a government ID and a live selfie were checked by a specialist provider and matched the name on the account. It carries a one-time $4.99 fee that covers the check. That is the whole claim.

What it does not confirm

It says nothing about whether a member is good at their job, solvent, honest in negotiations, or whether the opportunity they are posting is real. Those are separate questions with separate checks, and some of them cannot be checked by anyone.

Why we split badges apart

Contact Verified, Identity Verified, Industry Verified and Business Verified are separate typed claims with their own evidence and expiry. Confirming an email never implies an identity check. Confirming an identity never implies anything about money. A paid plan is never a trust signal and never looks like one.

The honest version of a verification system is less reassuring than the marketing version. We think it is also the only version that keeps people safe.
